5.4 Office, Program, and Departmental Records

The University Archives is a resource for researchers from both within and beyond campus to learn about the history of SJSU. Documenting the processes by which decisions were made or events came to be is just as important as documenting the outcomes of those processes. With that in mind, the following is a list of items that should be considered for transfer to the archives. For some offices, these materials must be transferred to the archives. Please consult the CSU retention schedule for more information.

  • Annual Reports
  • Correspondence
  • Media/Public Relations Records (e.g. Press Releases)
