The Council of Chief State School Officers is a nonpartisan, nationwide, nonprofit organization of public officials who head departments of elementary and secondary education in the states, the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and five U.S. extra-state jurisdictions. The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a joint effort by CCSSO and the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices.
Th CCSSO has many resources on the adoption of the Common Core standards. At the Common Core Initiative website there are research papers, videos and processes associated with the Common Core.
