To verify whether an article is peer-reviewed, you need to check whether the journal in which the article is published is peer-reviewed.
Steps to find journal titles in Ulrich's Periodicals Directory:
- Go to library.sjsu.edu
- Click on Articles and Databases under Quick Links.
- Search for 'Ulrich's periodicals'
- Click on Ulrich's Periodicals Directory
- Search for the journal title on Ulrich's, NOT the article title
- Click on the journal title link
- Look for the word "Refereed" (a synonym for peer-reviewed) and the striped-shirt icon: If it says "Yes" in the Refereed column, it is peer-reviewed.
