Late-Night Tutoring

Welcome to Late Night Tutoring

How tutoring works

Late-night tutoring is free for all SJSU students. No appointments are required; students are attended to on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • During the semester Sunday through Wednesday from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
  • No appointments are required

In-person: We are located on the 4th floor of King Library

Online: Log in on to our zoom online tutoring session: https://sjsu.zoom.us/my/latenighttutoring

You will be greeted by our Tutoring Coordinator who will transfer you to your Peer tutor.

Group tutoring sessions are also available and are limited to 8 students at a time.

How to prepare for tutoring

  • Ensure that you are up-to-date with class notes whether or not you attended class.
  • Study and review class materials before requesting tutoring.
  • Prepare specific questions, problems or concerns that you would like to ask the tutor.
  • Attempt to solve the problem and bring your solution to the session.
  • Bring all study materials and electronic devices needed for tutoring including scratch paper for solving problems.

**Carefully review the policies below before dropping in for tutoring.

**Please approach the tutors available with any questions or concerns about any policy.

  • Always have your student ID for every session.
  • Review materials and attempt homework problems before coming in for tutoring.
  • Tutors are not responsible for teaching topics covered in class; be familiar with information needed to solve problems
  • Be respectful towards other students by keeping the noise level in the tutoring space to the minimum.
  • Do not bring anything that will cause distractions during the session including large meals.
  • Remember to relocate to the open study area opposite the tutoring space after your session is over.
  • Return every borrowed resource on or before 11:30 pm.
  • Tutors will not do assignments or provide solutions to homework problems.
  • Tutors reserve the right to cancel any session if the student does not comply with the tutoring policies.
