Writing a short essay is an essential part of your academic career.  This workshop will help you develop the tools and skills needed to format your paper according to the following two most commonly used style guides ALA/MLA.


Microsoft Excel:

Learn the ins-and-outs of Microsoft Excel and how to leverage its capabilities to create helpful and accurate spreadsheets. This demonstration highlights some of the most important and useful features available in Microsoft Excel, a long-established spreadsheet program.

Qualtrics - Introduction

This session will acquaint you with Qualtrics which is a tool that allows users to quickly create and distribute surveys, as well as report the results of surveys using a powerful reporting tool.


Microsoft PowerPoint:

PowerPoint presentations have become even easier to create using this updated feature-rich version. In addition to PowerPoint basics, this workshop will explore the new tools for creating animations, using templates, utilizing multimedia, and much more.


Microsoft Access:

Date: September 28, 2021

This workshop will teach you how to create a databases to store information. Topics that will be discussed include: tables, queries, forms, and reports.


Adobe Acrobat - PDF:

Date: September 29, 2021

Adobe Acrobat Pro is used to create, manipulate, and view PDFs. Learn how to create fill-in forms, share non-printing comments, edit text, password protect files, convert docs into PDFs from other applications, and more.

Faculty Custom Workshop

Are you an instructor who wants to add software training into your curriculum so that your students are equipped with specific technology training for assignments or final project?

The Student Technology Training center offer custom technology workshops which we can tailor to your class specific requirements. Some of the workshops we offer are Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Cloud. 

How much lead-time is require to set up a custom workshop?

To ensure that we have adequate time to schedule and prepare for your workshop, please submit your request at least two weeks before your desired workshop date. We’ll do our best to accommodate shorter timelines.

Where do our custom workshops take place?

Currently all custom workshops take place via zoom.

  1. SJSU Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library Classrooms or 
  2. Your workshop can be held in your classroom; however your students must provide their own laptops.

We will respond to your request within 2 business days to verify any details

We will contact you to finalize your training for your student and send an email confirming your scheduled date, time and location. One week prior to your workshop, we will contact you to finalize your content and any additional pertinent details.
