Find a Specific Article with Google Scholar

To find a specific article using Google Scholar, go to the Google Scholar tab on the library's website or to scholar.google.com and enter the title of the article in quotation marks.

Google Scholar search box

If the title was entered correctly, the result should look like this:

Google Scholar results list

Now when you do a Google Scholar search, you will see the FindIt@SJSU link to the right of the article title. Clicking the FindIt@SJSU link takes you from Google Scholar directly into the King Library databases and to the full text of the article.

You may also see Get It@SJSU under the double-arrow icon. "Get It" means the King Library may or may not have the full text. "Get It" may also mean the resource you want is a physical item, such as a book. Books and articles not available at the King Library can be requested through Interlibrary Loan.

If you can't find the article searching for just the title, try the Advanced Search. Click on the Menu option in the upper left of the page and select Advanced Search. Enter as much information as you can in the search fields. Enter the title of the article under "with the exact phrase" for best results.

If the article is not available through the King Library, you can request it using Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad). This is a service that will e-mail you a copy of the article from another library.
