Around 1.6 million people in the United States don't have access to running water or basic plumbing (APHA). On top of that, those that do have access to running water run the risk of using water that's contaminated and unsafe to drink/bath with. The Martin Luther King Jr. library closes this equity gap by having clean, fresh water that's available to everyone.
MLK Library is an earth-friendly library; one of the ways it does this is by using recycled/reclaimed water in the restrooms.
When you use the library's restrooms you take part in saving the planet by having access to clean recycled water.
MLK library managed to use 2,074,348.20 gallons of recycled water!!
