Organizations and Commissions

Preservation organizations and regional commissions on history and preservation can often provide useful documents that will either reveal entire histories of buildings or provide important clues you can take back to the databases to continue your research.  See examples below for Bay Area organizations.  Doing a web search for the region or city and words like "historic preservation" or "planning commission" can  help identify those resources in other locations.
