Narrowing a Keyword Search

Use keyword searching when you...

  • want to search for more than one concept or word, such as "obesity" and "nutrition"
  • know just part of an author's name
  • know some words of a title

But what if you want to get more specific? When you searched for the keyword "dating" using OneSearch, you found books on dating and delinquency and dating archeological sites. But you also found this book:

Let's assume that you want books on just online dating. This is when subject searching comes in handy. Once you've found a book closely related to your topic, you can use the book's subject headings to find additional resources on the same topic.
