AskCHIS is a tool that allows you to quickly search for health statistics on your county, region and state. AskCHIS draws upon the responses of more than 50,000 Californians interviewed by The California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) – the largest state health survey in the United States.
The Center for Health Statistics and Informatics (CHSI) is responsible for stewardship and distribution of vital statistics data (births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriage) and provides written reports and data tables analyzing these data. OHIR also assesses California's progress toward Healthy People health indicators and coordinates the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) for the Departments of Public Health and Health Care Services.
