Library Course Materials (LCM) by Leganto

Use the Library Course Materials tool in Canvas to create reading lists that combine electronic articles, streaming media, digitized content, and physical materials into one place for easy student access.

Duplicating a Reading List (New UI) - Previously known as Rolling Over a List

1. Access the List:

  • Open the Library Course Materials tool in Canvas.
  • Select the reading list you want to duplicate.

2. Initiate the Duplicate Process:

  • Click on the ellipsis menu (three dots) at the top-right of the reading list.
  • Select Duplicate list from the dropdown menu.

3. Enter New Course Details:

  • When duplicating, you will be prompted to associate the duplicated list with a new course. Use the Link to course field to search for the course by name or course ID.
  • Optionally, you can modify the List name or adjust any Advanced Settings to decide which parts of the list (e.g., notes, tags, dates, statuses) will be copied or reset.

4. Finalize the Duplication:

  • Review the settings and select Create List.

  • The newly duplicated list will appear with the same content, now associated with the new course.
  • When finished, you might want to to review the new list to ensure that all items are properly linked and available to students.
