Getting Books Not Available at SJSU

Important

  • Before requesting books not available at SJSU, sign in to your SJSU Library account
  • When requesting a book or book chapter not available at SJSU, make sure you are on the full records page (click on the title of the article you want to request to get to the full records page)

------------------------------------------------------------

1. When searching for books, you have two options: Search only SJSU or search all CSU libraries. You can select the option you prefer on the right-hand side of the OneSearch search bar.

2. When a book is not available at SJSU, you will see this sentence:

3. When searching all CSUs instead and a book is not available at SJSU, you will see this sentence:

4. When clicking on either one of the sentences, you will get to a page that looks like the one in the image below (full record page); here, you can check which CSU libraries have the book available and either order a physical copy (use the left-hand side box) or a digital (scanned) individual chapter (use the right -hand side box).

5. If neither SJSU or any other CSU universities have the book you are seeking, you will have to order the book manually through InterLibrary Loan. For more information on how to place a manual request through Interlibrary Loan, please consult the Interlibrary Loan webpages. Please note that it is currently not possible to order a physical copy of a book directly from within OneSearch.(see image below).
