How do I use OneSearch?

See the handy OneSearch for Online Students guide to learn how to get the most out of OneSearch, the library's discovery system.

How do I access an ebook?

  • Although OneSearch provides the option to also search the combined catalogs of all 23 California State University libraries, you will only have access to ebooks owned by SJSU.  If there is an ebook you want and can't access, you can request a print copy of the title through Interlibrary Loan.

  • To restrict your search to ebooks, after searching on your topic, select the Books filter then the Full text online from SJSU filter. (Note: When the library has multiple formats, you'll sometimes see both the location of a print edition as well as a link to Online access).

How do I get a print book?

  • As a distance student or faculty member, you will need to use Interlibrary Loan to get a print book . Plan ahead — delivering books can take 7-10 days.*

  • Need just a book chapter? Interlibrary Loan also provides this option. The chapter will be scanned and delivered to your Interlibrary Loan account.

  • Live near another California State University campus? See Borrowing In-Person at Other CSU Campuses.

*SJSU will mail the book to you for free but you are responsible for mailing it back. If you would like to avoid this small charge, see if your local public library offers an Interlibrary Loan service. You may be able to request and return a book for no cost.
