Professional Organizations

The following links are examples of professional organizations in arts related fields.  To find the professional organization of a field of interest to you, you can google the name of the field and terms like "conference" or "association".  You may find there are local, state, or regional chapters of national and international organizations.

Museum Tickets

Our library partner, the San Jose Public Library, offers a service called Discover and Go that allows you to download and print free or discount passes to several bay area museums, including the San Jose Museum of Art.  You will need to log in to this service with your SJPL library card number and PIN.  There are a reserved number of tickets available per day, so be sure to log in to the service before the day you wish to go to a venue.

Regional and Special Interest Groups

Use a web search engine to locate regional and subject specialized interest groups/organizations.  While some organizations may require a membership fee to submit works to exhibits or receive their publications, it is often worth the fee to have access to the knowledge of professionals in the field.  I'm giving some examples of organizations in the Bay Area as examples.
